Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F/180°C.

Step 2

Add all of the ingredients except the baking cacao powder into a bowl and knead with your hands until you get a smooth dough.

Step 3

Separate the dough into two parts and add one part into a different bowl.

Step 4

Add the baking cacao powder into the second bowl and knead until the cacao is fully incorporated into the dough.

Step 5

Take a small piece of dough (a bit less than 1 tbsp) from each bowl and knead both pieces together in your hand until they start to combine.

Make sure to roll the dough around in your hands and play around with it a bit – this will create beautiful swirls.

Step 6

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 7

Press the balls down with the palm of your hand.

Take a fork and create a criss-cross pattern on the cookies.

Step 8

Bake the cookies for about 8-10 minutes in your preheated oven.

Step 9

Let the cookies cool down completely before enjoying them with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Storage

Store the cookies in a cookie jar or another suitable container.

The cookies will be good for up to 2 weeks.
